Headed to USL Academy National Finals in Tampa for the First Time

FRESNO, CA – The Fuego FC Academy achieved a remarkable accomplishment as they secured the prestigious USL Academy NorCal Division Championship with an outstanding 5-0 victory against Sacramento Republic Academy. This triumph not only exemplifies the Academy’s dedication to excellence but also propels them towards their next exciting challenge: USL Academy National Finals in Tampa, FL later this year.
The resounding victory in the USL Academy NorCal Division Championship not only showcased the talent and dedication of the Fuego FC Academy players but also underscored the coaching expertise and the support of the fans and the community. The team’s incredible performance delighted spectators and reaffirmed Fuego FC’s commitment to developing young soccer talent.
Adam Smith, Fuego FC’s Sporting Director and Head Coach for the Fuego FC Academy, expressed his pride and excitement for the team’s achievement. “It has been an incredible 12 plus months. My staff have worked very hard in setting up identification training centers throughout the Valley, traveling to Florida for the USL A cup earlier this year, and attending USL A league games all over Northern CA. Considering we are currently only a hybrid model, all the players deserve an accolade for their commitment and sacrifice. In such a short time we have been able to build a professional pathway together that has not been seen before in the Central and South Valley areas. There is talent here and now this talent is being provided with professional opportunities by Central Valley Fuego FC. Attending the USL National finals this December is the icing on the cake. I am very grateful and proud of everyone and everything they have achieved to date. The future is certainly very bright for the youth players in the Valley.”

This victory marks the first time the Fuego FC Academy team has earned the opportunity to compete in the playoffs, and the Fuego FC Academy now looks forward to representing not only their club teams but also their community on the national stage as they head to Tampa, FL for the USL Academy National Finals. The journey from local champions to national contenders is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Fuego FC Academy, and they are excited to make their mark on the National Finals.
